TEWKSBURY - Barbara Jean (Riccio) McGrath, 72, of Tewksbury, formerly of Malden MA and Newburgh NY, passed away peacefully with her devoted husband Michael McGrath at her bedside on May 30, 2021, after a long illness. Loving mother of John McGrath of Lowell MA and Mary McNeice and her husband Paul McNeice of Reading MA. Cherished grandmother of Kaden, Haley, and Carter who she adored. Daughter of the late John and Filomena Riccio of Newburgh NY.
Also survived by her sisters, Giovonina Jennie Manzano and JoAnn Woodward and her husband, Stanley; predeceased by her sister Deborah Riccio Previti. Barbara was also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, and many loving friends and extended family.
Barbara attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School, was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh, Saint Joseph’s Church in Malden and then Saint William’s Church in Tewksbury.
A woman who personified the true meaning of unconditional love and touched the lives of so many people. She had a passion for dance and truly loved to share that gift with all her students at Barbara’s School of Dance in Malden MA for over twenty years.
Interment and services private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Massachusetts General Hospital Memory Disorders Division at 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA (www.giving.massgeneral.org/donate/memorydisorders) to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.
