Athena Hatsiandrou Obituary

"May Her Memory Be Eternal"

Athena (Simou) Hatsiandrou, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Peter Hatsiandrou and the cherished daughter of the late Niko and Asanoula (Mirmigelis) Simou.

Born on April 26, 1940, in Kalloni, Lesbos, Greece, Athena attended school there and met her lifelong sweetheart, Peter. Their love story spanned 70 years, and they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. In 1967, Athena followed Peter to the United States, where they worked side by side for many years at Samuel Robert, a fashion business Peter owned and designed for. Athena was his right hand, supporting him tirelessly until their retirement. Together, they traveled the world and spent every summer in Greece, embracing their homeland and heritage.

Athena was known for her generous heart and unwavering kindness. She loved to cook for family and friends, ensuring no one ever left her home hungry—or without a little something to take with them. Her recipes, all committed to memory, were legendary within the Greek community. Athena also had a wonderful sense of humor and delighted in making others laugh. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino with her lifelong friends.

Athena is survived by her loving husband, Peter Hatsiandrou of Haverhill, MA, and their three children: Stacy (Hatsiandrou) Nicolosi of Methuen, MA; Louie Hatsiandrou and his wife Lori of Danville, NH; and Nick Hatsiandrou of Haverhill, MA. She leaves behind four adored grandchildren: Michael Nicolosi and his wife Tina of Perry Hall, MD; Joseph Nicolosi of Salem, NH; Panagioti Hatsiandrou and his wife Maria of Kalloni, Greece; and Zoe Hatsiandrou of Phoenix, AZ as well as three cherished great-grandchildren: Vivienne and Carter Nicolosi and Ariadne Hatsiandrou. Athena is also survived by her loving sister, Marika Karekos and her husband Dimitri of Greece.

Athena will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
