WEST NEWBURY - Surrounded by his wife and two daughters, Anthony J. Cannatelli, III passed away on June 20, 2024 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Known by his friends and loved ones as Joe, he was originally from Danvers. He made his home in West Newbury, MA. Joe was a graduate of St. John's Prep where he played baseball and hockey,
For the past many decades, music has been Joe’s primary focus and passion. He was Founder/Music Producer at On the Fringe Studios and West Newbury School of Music, where he recorded and supported musicians from all over the world. As a lifelong musician, Joe created the studio as a learning space for the many students who made their way to the door, as well as a home for expressing his passion and drive, as he strived to deliver the best music production he could bring to his clients and friends. He also worked with many charitable endeavors in the studio.
Joe’s great love of family, right beside his love of helping people in any way he could, was the driving force for his entire life. His infectious smile brought many people close to him as well as the effortless way he put everyone else ahead of himself. He loved his dogs and chickens, too! And he was a remarkable gardener and a talented woodworker who created stunning work. It seems everything and everyone Joe came in contact with became more beautiful.
Joe loved traveling the world, too, where he touched many lives through his humility, his wide-ranging talent, his hospitality, and his generosity. Known for his big heart and his ability to make people feel at ease from the moment they met him, Joe was a dear friend to so many of his fellow humans.
He is predeceased by his parents Anthony J. Cannatelli Jr. and Helene (Callahan) Cannatelli.
Joe is survived by his loving spouse Cathy (Zaccone) Cannatelli; his oldest daughter, Danielle Burkinshaw and her husband; his grandsons, Jack and Beau; his youngest daughter, Angela Cannatelli; as well as one sister, two brothers, and many beautiful nieces and nephews.
Joe so loved his community and his dogs that the family would like to request that donations be made in Joe's name to either the Pentucket Music Boosters of West Newbury or, because of his love of his precious Lola, donations to Berner Inc Education & Rescue at bernerinc.org.
Celebration of Joe's Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
