Obituary

HAVERHILL - Ann P. (Jackson) Gozewski, passed away very peacefully on April 7, 2023 after suffering dementia for the past 4 years. Ann was 83 Years of age.

Born in Burlington Vermont, March 14, 1940, she was the second daughter of four children born to Joseph Addison Jackson and Ruth Virginia Jackson (Niles), both deceased. She is survived by her eldest sister Rebecca, who resides in Bermuda with her husband, Walter Paynter. Also, her three sons, Phillip Gozewski of Salem ,NH, Eric Gozewski and his wife Sandra of Rowley, MA and Paul Gozewski and his wife Carol, along with their son Peter, her sole grandchild, of Haverhill, MA. Also many nieces and nephews from both the Jackson and Gozewski families and by many close friends. Predeceased by her siblings, Fred N. Jackson and Mary Silvia.

Ann spent her formative years in Burlington until after the war, when the family relocated to Winchester, MA at 17 Pine Street. Her father landed a job with the Boston Herald American as a journalist. Ann was good student and voracious reader throughout her life. In 1958, she met her husband Conrad Gozewski on a double date with her sister Rebecca and her husband Andrew Anderson, Both Andrew and Conrad were in the Air Force, stationed at Otis Air Force base on Cape Cod. Ann was married in 1959 and the couple bought their first home in Woburn in 1964.

Ann raised her children in Woburn, MA until 1966 when Conrad’s Job brought the family to Florida. They lived there 2 ½ years. Returning to the family home in Woburn, Ann showed an appreciation for music and the arts, which she instilled in her children. A lover of reading and good literature, deeply compassionate and very kind, her home was the place you could always find all of the neighborhood children that her son’s had befriended. A very social person, Ann tried to improve the lives of all she touched.

Upon her divorce from Conrad in 1974-75, Ann set out to remake herself, fiercely independent, she carved a life out for herself, trying several positions of employment before settling on Purchasing, where her open and kind personality, great command of language and large vocabulary, was an incredible asset. She resided for many years in Brighton, MA, until her retirement in 2004 where she relocated to Haverhill, MA, to be nearer her sons and grandchild.

Her family will hold a private internment service at a future date. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhlil. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
