Ann Allen Obituary

HAVERHILL - Ann Elizabeth (Lynch) Allen, loving wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the age of 59.

Ann was born to Jeremiah and Alice Lynch on June 27th, 1962, in Arlington, MA and grew up in Everett, MA. In 1980, Ann graduated from the Youville School of Nursing and became a knowledgeable, compassionate nurse. She worked in numerous hospitals in MA over the years and touched the hearts of many. In 1979, Ann met the love of her life, Charlie Allen, and the couple wed five years later. They went on to have three children, Charlie Jr., Brittany, and Persephone, whom they raised in their home in Haverhill, MA. They spent summers in Gloucester, MA, at their family’s camp, Pine Cone Cabin, where they made many happy memories. Charlie and Ann would have celebrated 38 years of marriage in September 2022.

Ann was a beautiful, loving, fun, and generous person, with a wicked sense of humor and warm heart. She was known for her amazing hugs, thoughtful gifts, and tendency to bring home stray animals. She enjoyed music, coffee, shopping, and most of all, being with her family—whether at home in Haverhill, at camp in Gloucester, or visiting her daughter, Brittany, in Hawaii. Ann faced a number of hardships throughout her life, including the disappearance of her eldest child, Charlie, from which her heart never fully healed. Nevertheless, through life’s difficulties, Ann displayed immense strength, grace, and love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah and Alice Lynch, her brother, John, and her in-laws, Malcolm and Jean Allen. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Allen, daughter, Persephone Allen, daughter, Brittany (Allen) Little, and son-in-law, Mathew Little. She is also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Private Celebration of Ann's Life will be held at a future time. In lieu of customary remembrances, please consider a charitable contribution in Ann’s memory to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
