HAVERHILL - Yvonne Alma (Gauron) DeSimone, passed away on March 17, 2017. She was born February 14, 1939 in Haverhill, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (LaChance) Gauron.
She graduated from St. James High School and Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill. She was the cherished wife of the late Donald A. DeSimone.
Yvonne worked for Microfab, Inc. for 20 years and the Essex County Gas Company for 10 years, both in Amesbury where she and Donald raised their family for 38 years before retiring to Boothbay Harbor, ME. They resided in Boothbay Harbor for six years before re-retiring to North Fort Myers, FL where they lived for 3 years. Upon the loss of her husband in 2007, Yvonne moved to Texas with her daughter. She fit in quite well in Texas. She was very involved with various church ministries at St. Thomas Aquinas that included Adoration, STARS, The Bereavement Group and the Ladies Retreats. She also volunteered at the church office whenever needed.
Her family members include her loving children Anthony DeSimone of Kingston, NH; Maryann Hogan and husband Glynn, of Meadows Place, TX and June Vinton and husband Mark of Amesbury; son in-law John Meyer of Seabrook, NH; adored five grandchildren the late Thomas Hogan, Glynn Hogan, Christopher Hogan, Julie Meyer, Jennifer Meyer; siblings Joseph Gauron, Mary Goodwin, Beatrice Fletcher, the late Richard Gauron and the late Jerome Gauron; brother in-law John DeSimone and wife Sheila and sister in-law Louise Gauron; many nieces, nephews and dear friends Nancy, Myrna, Catherine, Genevieve and Donna. Although she is absent from the body, she is present with the Lord!
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 20 in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill.
