Haverhill: Wilfred J. "Fred" Preneveau, 70, formerly of Tampa, FL, died peacefully on November 23, 2010 at Baker-Katz Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Preneveau was the husband of Beverly (Feole) Preneveau. Born in Methuen on February 7, 1940, he was the son of the late Roland L. and Delima (Gallant) Preneveau.

Fred was educated in Lawrence before entering the U.S. Marine Corps following high school and served in Okinawa before his discharge in 1960. His work career included Bekins Moving Co. and Damphouse Roofing before joining the Lawrence School Department where he attained the position of chief custodian before his retirement.

Fred is survived by his children, Cheryl Zuccola, Michelle (Preneveau) Hansen, GySgt. Douglas J. Preneveau, USMC and his fiance Dawn Verrill, Colleen Martin and her husband Mark, Michael Preneveau; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Roland L. Preneveau and his wife Lynda, Francis B. Preneveau and his wife Joanne; sisters, Esther M. Malone and her husband Robert, Linda M. Bredbury and her husband Warren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Timothy L. and Kevin L. Preneveau, and brother of the late Clifford and Anita Preneveau.

Services at Dole, Childs & Shaw funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill for Mr. Preneveau were private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Baker-Katz Nursing Home, 194 Boardman Street, Haverhill, MA 01830.
