Obituary

GEORGETOWN: Virginia L. (Tracy) Kinney, 93, a local resident of seventy-one years, died Saturday at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center. Mrs. Kinney was the wife of the late Raymond J. Kinney.

Born in Groveland on October 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Susie (Farrar) Tracy.

Mrs. Kinney was educated in Groveland, and following her graduation from Groveland High School continued her education at Salem State College. For thirty years she and her late husband owned and operated Kinney Jewelers on Fleet Street in Haverhill until urban renewal forced its closing in 1974. Mrs. Kinney was a member of the Lady's Guild at the First Congregational Church of Georgetown, former treasurer of both the Georgetown Chapter O.E.S. and the Bethany Rebecca Lodge.

She is survived by her son, Raymond J. "Jack" Kinney, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Boxford; daughters; Judith Coombs and her husband David of Tilton, NH, Joan Dole of Center Harbor, NH; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and s everal nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late Alton Tracy, Dorothea (Tracy) (Rogers) Lamb and Madeline Tracy.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. At the families request there will be no calling hours, and the interment at Harmony Cemetery will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Red Cross, 177 Ward Hill Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01835.
