SALISBURY, MA: Thomas C. "Tom" Olsen, 64, passed away at his home on March 6, 2023 surrounded by those who loved him most. He was the husband of Krista G. (Georges) Olsen.

Born in Greenville, MI on August 30, 1958, he was the son of the late Bruce C. Olsen and Jean B. (Tuin) Olsen.

Tom completed high school in Michigan and continued his education earning his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Utah, and was pursuing a master's degree in education at Cambridge College. After transitioning from a career in accounting & finance, Tom joined the Amesbury Innovation High School as a mathematics teacher where he has worked for several years. Tom was a member of Lodge #909 – Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and had served on the Salisbury Harbor Commission. He enjoyed being outdoors. A skilled skier and an avid fisherman,  he loved to boat on the coast of New England, Pensacola Beach, FL, and on Lake Michigan. Tom enjoyed home renovations, gardening, reading, and cooking. He was a loving father, devoted husband, and rescue dog lover. Tom would lend a hand to anyone in need. He was friendly, polite and a true gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor.

Besides his wife of fourteen years, Krista, Tom is survived by his children, Molly Olsen and her husband Eric Welch of Malden, Rachel Olsen and her husband Trevor Utley of Coventry, RI, Shane Olsen, Xavier Olsen and Elijah Olsen, all of Salisbury; grandson, Owen Welsh of Malden; siblings, Barbara Olsen of St. Claire, MI, Patricia Olsen of Grand Haven, MI, Julie Lubold and her husband Bill of Bay City, MI; niece, Lisa Lubold and her husband Ian Brand and great-nephew, Robin Brand-Lubold; sister-in-law, Jennifer Dermody and her husband David of Gulf Breeze, FL; nieces and nephews, Austin Dermody, Callan Dermody, Landon Dermody, Evelyn Dermody, Lillian Dermody, Rowan Dermody and Davison Dermody;  mother-in-law, Donna Georges; stepfather-in-law, Bob Wentworth; and father-in-law, Paul Georges. Tom is also survived by his beloved dogs, Peach & Shelby, and many good friends.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service and refreshments from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Elks Function Hall, 25 Low Street, Newburyport, MA 01952.
