HAVERHILL: Theresa P. Straw, 92, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport. She was the wife of the late Edmund W. Lowes and Wesley A. Straw.

Born in Haverhill on August 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Sarah E. (Legg) Saltzman.

Theresa was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1947. She began a long and rewarding career as an Inspector at the former Western Electric in Haverhill before moving to North Andover, and retiring following 38 years of service. Theresa was a life-long member of Second Baptist Church in Haverhill, and served as Choir Director and Organist for sixty-five years alongside her husband Wesley who served as pastor. Many local residents will remember the many bean suppers at the church that she and Wesley hosted. Theresa was a member of The Order of Eastern Star and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

The last of five children, Theresa is survived by her children, Dennis W. Lowes of Amesbury, Dwight W. Lowes and his wife Barbara of Haverhill, Richard G. Lowes of Haverhill, Jamie V. Lowes and his wife Janice of Haverhill; grandchildren, Ed, Heather and Denny; great grandchildren, Joe and Felicia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, December 30 ^th at 10:00am at Second Baptist Church, 314 Amesbury Line Rd, Haverhill, MA 01830 with interment to follow at Walnut Cemetery. Calling hours at the church on Wednesday, December 29 ^th from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Arrangements under the direction of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill.
