Obituary

HAMPSTEAD, NH: Thelma C. (Collins) Martin, 95, passed away on December 31, 2011 at the Rockingham County Complex in Brentwood, NH. Mrs. Martin was the wife of the late Charles Carleton Martin.

Born in Lawrence, MA on November 5, 1916, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Jay L. and Margaret D. (Morrison) Collins.

Mrs. Martin was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1934. During her career she had worked for photographer Carl Watson of Haverhill, as a bookkeeper at the former Haverhill Rubber Co., and in the office at Linwood Cemetery. She was a member of Fidelity Chapter #90, Order of Eastern Star, Hampstead Congregational Church, and volunteered at the Hampstead Library. Her interest included reading, knitting and spending valuable time at the cottage her father built at Pawtuckaway Lake.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hampstead Congregational Church. Interment at Linwood Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Hampstead Congregational Church, 61 Main Street, Hampstead, NH 03841, or the Hampstead Library, 6 Mary E. Clark Dr., Hampstead, NH 03841.
