HAVERHILL - Susan (Persson) Steranko, 52, of Haverhill, passed away on September 17, 2015 at Beth Israel Medical Center, Boston.

Susan was born in Quincy on October 26, 1962, daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Johnson) Persson. She was raised and educated in Quincy. She is a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with the achievement of being ranked number one female in her class. She continued her studies at Northeastern completing her Master's Degree in her field.

She began her career with AT&T which became Lucent Technologies, and was working for the last 12 years with General Dynamics, Needham until she was unable, due to her illness.

Loving wife for 27 years of Guy Steranko of Haverhill. She was devoted to her family and her Christian faith. She and her husband believed it was very important for their children to receive a Christian education having her children attend the Salem Christian Academy, Bradford Christian Academy, and presently her children Jason attends Holy Cross College, and Lindsay attends Gordon College.

Her surviving family members include her loving husband Guy Steranko; children Jason Steranko and Lindsay Steranko; siblings Bruce Persson and wife Lisa of Derry, NH, Carl Persson of Middleborough and Linda Hitt and husband George of Milton; her uncle Arthur Johnson and wife Jane of Maine; and loving cousin Betsy.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 24, in the Ward Hill Church of Christ, 34 M St., Haverhill, officiated by Pastor Alex Burgess, at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Linwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
