Susan E. Mabee passed away on the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 69 years old. Susan was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma and spent the last few months of her life spending time with her beloved family and friends as she battled cancer. Though the battle was not easy, she went peacefully in her sleep.
Raised in Chelsea, Susan spent most of her life raising her children in Saugus, and later moved closer to her grandson in Haverhill, MA.
If the kindest souls could live the longest, Susan would have outlived us all. Susan was a very giving person and always thinking of others. She lives on in the 100's of homemade blankets she’s made for countless people. She was a caring wife, a proud mother, and a thoughtful Nana. Susan could talk to anyone, and, she did. She could keep a conversation for hours. Her funny stories, her belly laugh, and her phone calls will be missed by many.
Some of her favorite things were, sweet treats late at night, a new bathrobe, tv dramas with a plot twist, coffee but mainly for the sweet cream creamer, hallmark Christmas movies all year round, sleeping in, and enjoying some good take out with her family. Go Pats!
Daughter of the late Jeremiah Buckley and Marie Agnes (Horgan), Susan is honored by her husband William P. Mabee, eldest daughter Kaitlyn Bourgeois and her husband Craig, her late daughter Lauren Mabee, and her youngest daughter Erin Mabee. Her step-grandson Christian, her grandson Cole William, and her grand-pup Charlie.
She is also honored by her brother James Buckley and his wife Jeane, sister Kathleen Brown and her husband Tom, brother Brian Buckley and his wife Gail, and the late Gerald Buckley and wife Rose, the late Barbara Dwyer and her surviving husband Robert, the late Paul Buckley and surviving wife Lisa, and the many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Words of Remembrance beginning at 12:30. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks people to donate to the Target Cancer Foundation at www.targetcancer.org/donate. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
