Obituary

RAYMOND, NH: Stephen W. "Two Feathers" Dennis, 66, passed away peacefully, with his loving family at his side, on February 3, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was the husband of Irene (Smith) Dennis

Born in Burlington, VT on August 9, 1957, he was the son of Ruth (Jerome) (Dennis) DerGarabedian and the late Walter R. Dennis.

Stephen moved from Vermont to Haverhill in 1960, attended Haverhill High School, and continued his education at Northern Essex where he completed certification as a welder. He worked as a welder for several years at Metal Tronics in Methuen.

Stephen was a Native American, and a proud member of the Abenaki Indian Tribe. He was devoted to the Native American culture, and participated in many powwows where he would dance, sing, and honor the traditions of his ancestors. He enjoyed the outdoors where he fished and hunted. He found immense joy traveling in his truck, riding his Harley, and retreating at his camp in Lee, NH.

Besides his wife Irene Dennis, and former wife Dianne (Chaput) Parker, Stephen is survived by his children; Jaime Gadwah and her companion Scott Purington of Dover, NH, Nicole Kissane and her partner Joe Hawkins of Raymond, NH, William Dinsmore of Raymond, NH, Eric Smith and his partner Christine Creditt of Haverhill, Daniel DerGarabedian and his wife Linda of Sarasota, FL, Paul Der Garabedian and his wife Staci of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Makaya Gadwah, Katrina Gadwah, Jada Kissane, Sydni Kissane, Colby Kissane, Nolen Hawkin, Matthew Dinsmore, Zachary Dinsmore, Lynette Dinsmore, Devin Smith and Lydia Smith; niece, Alexandria DerGarabedian; nephew, John Dennis. Stephen was predeceased by his brother Gary Dennis, and stepfather, Edward P. DerGarabedian.

A private celebration of Stephen's life was conducted in the chapel at Linwood Cemetery on Friday, February 9th. Arrangements under the direction of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.dcsfuneralhome.com
