Obituary

KINGSTON, NH: Shirley (West) Hale, 87, formerly of Haverhill and Atkinson, died August 3rd at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mrs. Hale was the wife of the late Murray E. Hale.

Born in Haverhill on October 14, 1920, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Ruth E. (Walker) West.

She graduated from Haverhill High School class of 1939. During the war Shirley served in the WAVES and was stationed in Washington, DC as a Specialist (Q) 2/c. She had worked as a music teacher at Ann Crane Kindergarten, and as a teacher's aide at the Rockwell School in Atkinson, NH. Shirley was a member of Newton Junction Baptist Church where she was an organist, and member of the former FFC. Her interest included reading, crossword puzzles and knitting.

She is survived by her daughter Marsha Hale of Haverhill; sister Barbara Serrin and husband James of Minneapolis, MN and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert West.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Newton Junction Baptist Church. Interment will be private. Donation in her memory may be made to Newton Junction Baptist Church, Peaslee Crossing Road, Newton Junction, NH 03859.
