Seavey, Jr.

Haverhill: Sheldon A. Seavey, Jr., 87, formerly of Groveland, passed away on November 1, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Sheldon was the husband of Lottie A. (McIntyre) Seavey.
Born in Haverhill on April 25, 1926, he was the son of the late Sheldon A. Sr. and Rose M. (Boulay) Seavey.
Sheldon was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School and Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1945. Following graduation he entered the Merchant Marines and was then transferred to the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge he accepted a job at Mass Electric where he worked forty years before his retirement in 1988 as foreman in the meter department.
Sheldon was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church for sixty-nine years where he served as head usher, Deacon, and on various committees such as the scholarship committee. He was a member of Saggehew Lodge A.F. & A.M., Haverhill Commandry, #14 K.T. He enjoyed gardening and working with his computer.
Besides his wife of sixty-four years he is survived by his sons, Sheldon A. "Skip" Seavey, 111 and his wife Jennifer of Danville, NH, Keith A. Seavey of Methuen, MA; grandchildren, Scott, Sean, Erin Seavey, Sherri Albanese, Meghan Senter, and Gregory, Christopher, Samantha Massey, and Jennifer Williams; eight great grandchildren, four godchildren; sisters, Jeanette DeSandro and husband John of South Groveland, Lillian Sexton and husband James of Garden Grove, CA, Barbara Rivers and husband Robert of Haverhill; brothers, Albert Seavey and wife Shirley of Groveland, Kenneth Seavey, Detroit, MI, George Haskins and wife Linda of East Kingston, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Seavey.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013, at First Baptist Church. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Donations in Sheldon's memory mad by made to the First Baptist Church, Scholarship Fund, 217 Main Street, Haverhill.
