NORTH CONWAY, NH: Ruby E. (Davis) LaPlante, 85, formerly of Plaistow, passed away on November 25, 2014 at Genesis Mineral Springs. Mrs. LaPlante was the wife of Alfred E. LaPlante.

Born in Haverhill on March 31, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harold G. and Ada F. (Mason) Davis.

Ruby attended Atkinson Academy and Newburyport schools. Following her marriage she was able to remain at home to raise her family, and, as the children grew, worked afternoons at Charles Street Laundry for ten years. Ruby attended Kingston Congregational Church, and was a member of AMVETS Post 147 Ladies Auxiliary. Ruby supported her daughter as both a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.

Besides her husband of 66 years Ruby is survived by her children, Frances Hall of Epping, NH, Roy LaPlante and wife Diane of Milton Mills, NH, Patricia Dennehy of Haverhill, Donna Noel of Alton Bay, NH, Laurie Forand and husband Robert of Chocorua, NH; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; aunt & uncle Shirley and Wilfred Senter of Plaistow.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment, in the spring, at Atkinson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Ruby's memory may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
