Obituary

HAVERHILL - Ronald R. Powell, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 17, surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born on January 12, 1947, loving son of Ruby (Cartee) Powell and the late George Powell. He was a Wakefield High School graduate, class of 1964. Following high school, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, a duty he was forever proud of. After his time of service, he traveled to California where he worked as a underwater construction diver. Ron settled in Haverhill to raise his family where he thoroughly enjoyed coaching football for Georgetown High School and Haverhill youth teams.

Ron is survived by his cherished wife of 32 years Neva (Brown) Powell; children Scott Powell and husband Mark Provencher of Merrimack, NH, Adam Powell and wife Stephanie of Haverhill, Jake Powell and Andrew Powell; grandchildren Olivia, Austin, Greyson and Roman Powell and Jenna and Justin Provencher; mother Ruby (Cartee) Powell; siblings Gary Powell and wife Emily of No. Reading, Cheryl Powell of Lynnfield and George Powell and wife Lori of Londonderry, NH; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to join Ron's family Sunday, May 21, for a Celebration of Life at the Amvets Post 147, 576 Primrose Street, Haverhill from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Visitation Monday in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment with U.S. Marine Corps Honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Powell Family.
