CHARLESTOWN - Robert P. Melendy, 58, longtime resident of Charlestown and formerly of Haverhill, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

Bob was born in Haverhill on August 2, 1960, son of Diana (Gucciardi) and the late Gordon Melendy.

He was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1978. Bob then graduated from Boston College, class of 1982, where he studied in business. After graduation he took graduate courses at Harvard University where he received several certificates. He was employed as Director of Human Resources for various companies in the pharmaceutical industry until his retirement, at which point started his own consulting business.

Bob's activities included tennis, golf, collecting art and photography. Bob also enjoyed exploring different places, wines and foods. There was no greater joy than being a loving uncle and godfather to many. Bob's philosophy in life was to strive to be the best person he could possibly be. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him for his generosity and loyalty.

His surviving family members include his loving mother Diana Melendy of Groveland; sisters Karen Iacozzi and husband Vincent of Atkinson, NH and Diane Goodman and husband Eric of Hampton, NH; cherished nieces and nephews Carina, Francesca, Christopher and Cam.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, celebrated in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Please meet directly at the church.
