HAVERHILL - Robert B. Mears, 73, of Bradford passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children at Lahey Clinic due to a brief illness.
He graduated from Haverhill Trade School and became a well-known self-employed Licensed General Contractor.
Bob loved to travel and snow ski. Skiing took him to places like Switzerland, Lake Tahoe and beyond! His dream trip to Alaska was accomplished 10 years ago of which he has continued to rave about!
He especially loved sharing his home on Lake Winnisquam with his family and friends. Since becoming a grandfather, Bob enjoyed spending time playing with his grandchildren, being called "Grampy."
Mr. Mears is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Marjorie, daughter Erica Cronin and husband Robert, son Robert and wife Sarra, stepson Justin Berman and wife Jennifer. Bob's siblings include Henry, Patty, Alice and Ruthie. Bob also leaves his grandchildren, Alex, Robert ("Bec") and Zackary, along with sister in-laws Robin Spero and Paula Murphy, and brother in-laws, Sean Burns, Tom Burns and Robert Middleton. Also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services beginning Friday in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to any charity of choice in Bob's memory.
