Haverhill: Robert E. Jewett, Jr., 95, died Wednesday at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mr. Jewett was the husband of the late Helen M. (White) Jewett.

Born in Gilford, NH July 31, 1912, Mr. Jewett was the son of the late Edwin P. and Clara (Tabeth) Jewett.

Mr. Jewett was a graduate of Portsmouth New Hampshire High School. He worked as a welder/gas burner at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for ten years, after which he worked for various shoe manufacturers in Haverhill and Lawrence.

Mr. Jewett is survived by his sons Robert E. Jewett, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Crystal River, FL, Richard P. Jewett and his wife Sharon of Kelso, WA; daughter Lorina Williams of Auburn, WA; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Private services will be held Monday at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. At the familys request there will be no calling hours. Interment at Linwood Cemetery.
