Obituary

Robert D. Jackson, 75, one of nine children, died Wednesday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital. Mr. Jackson was the husband of Gail Jackson.

Born in Haverhill April 30, 1932, Mr. Jackson was the son of the late John M. and Doris F. (Williams) Jackson.

Robert was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill Trade School class of 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the submarine base in New London, CT. For several years he worked as an installer for the Curtain Shoppe in Lawrence, and then went on to work as a carpenter and painter for the IRS in Andover before his retirement in 1977. He was a member of VFW post #29 in Haverhill, was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.

Besides his wife of 29 years Robert is survived by his children Robert D. Jackson, Jr. and his wife Doreen of Haverhill, Pamela Anderson and her husband Jack of Barrington, NH, Stacy Sullivan and her husband Dan of Haverhill, Barbara Wilmot and her husband Alan DuBois of Hookset, NH, Stephen Wilmot of Methuen; nine grandchildren; sisters Elaine Chadbourne of Saco, ME, Anita Latore and her husband Joe of Tamarac, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by George, John, Jr., Frank, Fred, and Raymond Jackson, Caroline Cornelius, and grandson Donal T. Sullivan, III.

Services at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donors choice.
