DOERENTRUP, GERMANY: Robert E. Hinds, 71, formerly of Haverhill, died October 14th in Detmold, FRG. Mr. Hinds was the husband of Liane Hinds.

Born in Haverhill May 25, 1936, Mr. Hinds was the son of the late Harold D. and Pauline M. (Archibald) Hinds.

Robert graduated from Haverhill High School in 1956 and immediately entered the U.S. Air Force. He made the service his career and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.

Beside his wife he is survived by his children Susan Erwin and her husband David of San Jose, CA, Andrew Hinds of Elk Grove, CA, Steven Hinds and his wife Sandra of Tualatin, OR, Greg Hinds of Bedminster, NJ; four grandchildren; brother, Frederick G. Hinds and his wife Dianne of Londonderry, NH; sisters, Frances A. Lieber and her husband Raymond of East Hampstead, NH, Elizabeth "Betty" Lorence of San Bernardino, CA, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Hinds.

Services and interment will be complete in Germany. Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
