HAVERHILL: Robert E. Harrigan, 85, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Born in Haverhill on September 18, 1936, he was the son of the late Leo E. and Anna E. (Spaulding) Harrigan.

Bob was educated in Haverhill and attended St. James High School. He had a lengthy career in Haverhill's shoe industry working as a stamper at Hy-Lee Shoe Trimming Co., and as a kick presser at Colonial Shoe Ornament Co. Bob's second career was that of a custodian working at Union Mission Nursing Home, the Haverhill School Department and YMCA. Bob was a faithful member of St. James Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a longtime member of Haverhill Elks Lodge #165 where he enjoyed the companionship of his many friends.

Bob is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Eleanor Dahlhaus, Marilyn Merritt, William F. Harrigan, James E. Harrigan, Joan E. Riley and Gladys A. Murch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, February 18 ^th at 1:00pm, at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
