Atkinson, NH: Robert "Shorty Bob" Kachanian, 86, one of six children, died suddenly at his home in Northwood, NH.

Born in Boxford, MA December 21, 1922, he was the son of the late Sarkis and Catherine (Anokian) Kachanian.

Bob had lived in Atkinson for 60 years, and attended Atkinson Academy. Many will remember him as the owner of Bob's Garage and always willing to help a neighbor in need. He had many interests and one of his greatest passions was traveling the country's highways. Bob entertained family and friends with his many stories, and was a Grange member while living in New Hampshire. He was an avid motorcyclist and active member of the NH Blue Knights Chpt. #1.

A lifelong bachelor, Bob is survived by his sister Mary Sarkisian of Haverhill; nephew Edward Sarkisian of Salem, NH; niece Rose Cunningham and husband Arthur of Hampstead, and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Helen, John, Abe and Alice.

Friends are invited to the funeral Saturday, July 12th, at 10:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Burial at Atkinson Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
