Haverhill: Richard W. Johnson, 76, passed away suddenly on October 17, 2015 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born on August 3, 1939, Richard was the son of the late Charlton F. and Evelyn L. (Perley) Johnson.

Richard was educated in Haverhill, and graduated from Haverhill Trade School. For many years he worked in the Shipping/Receiving Department at the Internal Revenue Service. Music was an important part of Richard's life. He cherished playing his guitar, and following his favorite bands at Salisbury Beach. Richard was passionate about sports cars, and following the success of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots having held season tickets for many years. Richard valued the time spent with his family at their summer home on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Richard is survived by many nieces and nephews, and will be fondly remembered by his many friends including Jim and Sherry Bourque of Atkinson, Kathy Surran and family of Tewksbury, and Denise Brown and family of Salisbury. He was the brother of the late Donald A. Johnson, Cornelia Lewis and Thalia Lamparter.

Friends are invited to the calling hours on Friday, October 23rd, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment to follow at Linwood Cemetery.
