HAVERHILL - Richard P. Beckman, 73, of Bradford, passed away on October 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with Multiple System Atrophy.

He was born to the late Lloyd and Earlene Beckman on October 26, 1944 in Waltham.

Richard met his wife Dorothy while stationed in Plattsburgh, NY while serving in the U.S. Air Force and later moved to Massachusetts where they resided for 51 years. Richard is survived by his wife Dorothy and their son Christopher and his two children Scott and his wife Kim and Stacie and his wife Suzanne and her children Emily and Nicole of Hampstead, NH; daughter Jennifer and her husband Keith Loureiro and their children Alyssa and husband Tiago Dos Santos, Amber, Ashley, Kayla and Jordyn of Gilford, NH; son Michael and his wife Ismary and their two children Evan and Isabella of Newton, NH. Richard is also survived by his sister Linda and her husband Jack Karcz; brother David and his companion Mary Woodbury; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the United States Air Force, licensed electrician and a jack-of-all-trades. To his family he filled the role of mechanic, plumber, electrician and teacher. He led by example and ALWAYS put his family first. When his kids were younger he enjoyed taking the family camping, hiking and on long bike trips. In his later years he enjoyed the annual family camping trip in Vermont and visiting the casino. His legacy will live on through those that called him brother, husband, father, Grandpa, GGP and Papa.
