Obituary

HAVERHILL: Phyllis A. Jackson, 89, formerly of Inverness, FL, passed away suddenly at her home on August 13, 2021. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Goff.

Born in Haverhill on August 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Rita J. (Abbott) Hitchcock.

Phyllis was educated in Haverhill, and completed the Nurses Aid program at Haverhill's former Glenn Memorial Hospital where she worked for several years. Phyllis then joined the former Building 19 where she worked as Department Manager for fifteen years until her retirement.  Phyllis was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Chapter 4252 in Hernando, FL, and the Loyal Order of Moose in Palmetto, FL. She was a civic minded woman who enjoyed volunteering her time for the greater benefit of others.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Robert D. Jackson and his wife Doreen of Haverhill, Pamela Anderson and her husband Jack of Barrington, NH, Stacey A. Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Haverhill; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; twin sister, Shirley Gauthier of Florence, AZ and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carl Hitchcock, Charlotte Viller, June Dagnault, Ronald Hitchcock and Frederick Hitchcock.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, August 26 th , from 11:00 – 12:00p.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill to be followed by interment at Linwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.dcsfuneralhome.com
