GROVELAND - Peter Bevelaqua, 48, lifelong resident of Groveland and Haverhill, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, September 9, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Haverhill on October 16, 1968, son of the late R. Burke Bevelaqua and Anne (Sullivan) Bevelaqua.

Peter graduated from Kent's Hill School in Maine and attended Assumption College in Worcester, MA. Peter was the owner of Norwood Insurance Agency in Groveland, MA where he served as President for 17 of his 25 years following in a 3 generation tradition. He was a member of the Pentucket Kiwanis Club, the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agencies and was a proud sponsor of youth baseball, both the Riverside Bradford and the Groveland Baseball leagues.

Peter was a true gentleman, non-judgmental, kind and was loved by all that were fortunate enough to know him. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, boating and was a skilled captain at navigating the Merrimack River.

Peter's surviving family members include his mother Anne (Sullivan) Bevelaqua, his sister Melissa (Bevelaqua) Connell and her husband Brian, his nephew Charles "Charlie" Burke Connell and his niece and Goddaughter Caroline Hannan Connell and several cousins, relatives and many more loving and close friends.

Visiting hours to celebrate Peter's life will be held on Thursday September 14, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will begin Friday in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Patrick Church, 114 Center Street, Groveland at 10:00 AM. Burial in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Luncheon to celebrate Peter's life will follow at the Haverhill Country Club, Brickett Lane, Haverhill.
