Obituary

NEWTON, NH: Percy F. Wonson, 82, husband of Patricia J. (Gilligan) Wonson, died Thursday September 25th at The Oxford.

Born in Gloucester July 6, 1926, he was the son of the late Myles P. and Ann M. (Houghton) Wonson.

Mr. Wonson was raised in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School class of 1944. He served twenty years in the U.S. Army having deployed as a radio operator to Germany and Vietnam before his retirement in 1968. Mr. Wonson worked as a tester for AT&T before retiring in 1989 following twenty years of service. His great passions were his pet dogs.

Beside his wife of eleven years he is survived by his brothers Myles P. Wonson, Jr. and his wife Thelma of North Andover, and Austin B. Wonson and his wife Patricia of Gloucester; sister, Elizabeth Darcy, Cape May, NJ.

Friends are invited to the funeral Sunday, September 28th, 3:00 p.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Highland Cemetery will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
