Paula (Schena)
Cox
January 1, 1951 – May 29, 2018
Paula M. (Schena) Cox, 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Haverhill on January 1, 1951, daughter of the late Frank and Celeste T. (McLaughlin) Schena and was educated in Haverhill Schools.
Loving wife of David Cox, married for over 47 wonderful years. They raised their 2 children while living in Groveland and spending summers at their vacation home in Wells, Maine. She worked for Verizon for 20 years until her retirement in 2006. During retirement she took care of her grandchildren and did countless things for others. Her interests included needlepoint, oil painting, the beach, trips to many casinos, playing cards and traveling with family and friends to many destinations especially Aruba over 25 times. Paula was a selfless, giving, loving and kind woman, who always was thinking of others with a smile on her face. She spent as much time as she could with her devoted husband, her siblings, daughter, son, grandchildren and their families. If she was not with them, she was talking about them.
Her surviving family members in addition to her husband David, include her loving children Monica Barbieri and husband Michael, Andrew Cox and wife Christina all of Groveland; cherished grandchildren Madison Barbieri, Mason Barbieri and Jacob Cox; beloved siblings Pamela Maurice and husband Daniel and Mark Schena; several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in-law; and many great friends; deceased family members include her late father and mother in-law William and Beatrice Cox and brother in-law Joseph Cox.
The Cox family would like to thank the staff of Wingate at Haverhill for the dedicated service and care they have given to Paula and her family.
