HAVERHILL - Paul Rodriguez, M.D., 77, longtime Haverhill resident passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016.

He was born on March 20, 1939, in New Britain, CT. Son of the late Edmund and Evelyn (O'Leary) Rodriguez. He was the cherished husband of Jerene (Bertrand) Rodriguez.

He was educated in Southington, CT and received his Bachelor's Degree from Fairfield University in 1961. Dr. Rodriguez continued his education receiving his degree of Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in 1965. He completed his Internship and Ob/Gyn Residency at the former New Britain General Hospital now UCONN Health Center from 1965 through 1969. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Fort Monmouth, NJ being discharged at the rank of Major. Dr. Rodriguez was an Ob/Gyn serving the people of Haverhill and many of the surrounding communities until his retirement in 2003. Some of his other activities included being a member of the Haverhill Board of Health, served as President of the Hale Hospital Medical Staff, member of the Hale Hospital Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Bradford Historical Commission, served as President of the Parish Council of Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford, served as a Eucharistic Minister for Sacred Hearts Church, served as President of the Deaf Community Center in Framingham.

Dr. Rodriguez's surviving family members in addition to his wife, include his loving children, Mark Rodriguez of Danvers, Maria Ouellette and husband David of Haverhill, Matthew Rodriguez and wife Renee of CA and Andrew Rodriguez and wife Sandra of Germany; grandchildren, Renee, Daniel, Gabriela and Sebastian; great-grandson Bryson; sisters Evelyn Clemett of RI and Dr. Nancy Arnold, CT; and many close friends and colleagues.

His funeral will be held Monday morning, May 23, beginning at the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, (Rte. 125), Bradford at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Hearts Church, 165 So. Main Street, Bradford at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be Sunday in the funeral home from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
