Obituary

ANDOVER - Paul Joseph Boucher died suddenly on Saturday morning, October 8, 2022. He was with family and had just started a trip to Canada. Paul was born February 21, 1946 to Edgar and Rollande Boucher in Sherbrooke, Canada.  He moved with his family to the United States in 1955. Paul graduated from Chelsea High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Army and became a U.S. citizen.  Paul was patriotic and proud of his success in this country. He met Francine Dutil on a trip to his hometown. They got married a year later in September of 1967. Paul and Francine were always deeply in love and were married for 52 years before her passing in late 2019. Paul was always close to her large family of 9 siblings and spent many holidays and vacations with them. Together Paul and Francine had three children Francois Boucher, wife Ana, Daniel Boucher, widow Christin Sutherland and Julie Coppenrath, husband Peter. Paul had three grandchildren whom he loved very much Bianca Boucher, Helen Coppenrath and Hana Coppenrath. Paul is survived by his older brother Pierre Boucher and younger sister, Carmen Boucher.

Following his service in the Army, Paul worked in the electronics Industry. There he met his business partner Joe Antonellis. They began a real estate business and acquired or built many rental properties in the Boston area. Together they grew the enterprise from a second job where they did construction by night, to a thriving business with employees and an office. Many years later Joe would marry Francine's sister, Dominique and become part of the extended family.

Paul was a generous man and for many years the home he and Francine made was open to the youth of Tewksbury, MA. Friends and acquaintances of his children filled the house with activity at all hours. Paul followed many sports and loved hockey, especially the Montreal Canadiens. He was a good listener and many people sought his counsel. He helped people with both advice and money in their time of need. Paul liked heavy metal music from the 1980's and was always listening to talk AM radio on his portable radio. He was an audiophile who appreciated a good stereo system and kept up with the latest in AV equipment. Also, he was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Augustine Parish. He loved his family deeply. His saddest moments were the loss of his son Daniel to a car accident in 1999 and his wife to cancer in 2019. In his final years his happiest moments were with his grandchildren.
