WILMINGTON - Patricia A. Gearty, of Wilmington passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2023.

She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph H. and Margaret E. Ward and dear sister of the late MaryEllen "Skip" Ward. She is survived by her children, Joan P. McDonough and her late husband Patrick J. "Jay" McDonough of Bradford, Richard F. Gearty of Wilmington, John J. and Doria Gearty of Boston, Robert W. and Robin Gearty of Wilmington and Thomas C. and Rose Gearty of Landaff, New Hampshire. She was the beloved grandmother of Lynne and Joshua Plavner, Kara M. and Richard J. Sawyer, Lauren and Michael Hagan, Patricia Gearty, Lea Gearty, John Gearty, Mariel Gearty and Christopher Colosimo, Caitlin Gearty and the late Elise Gearty. Patricia loved being the great-grandmother of Joseph and Brynn Sughrue, Evelyn and William Plavner, James, Cecilia and Francis Hagan and Noelle Colosimo. She was also the sister in-law of Paul K. Gearty and the late Louise Gearty.

She retired from the Wilmington School System after 25 years of service.
