HAVERHILL - Panagiotis Meltsakos, 84, of Bradford, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Ahepa Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece.

Mr. Meltsakos was born on February 8, 1928 in Agios Kosmas, Grevena, Greece; educated in Greece and served in the Greek Army. Married Chrisoula (Tolios) Meltsakos on July 27, 1954. Worked as a builder in Greece then immigrated to Germany for 5 years and eventually to the United States on May 20, 1969. He retired after working for 25 years as a machine operator at the former Borden Chemicals of North Andover. After retirement, he looked forward to visiting his home in Greece every summer. Mr. Meltsakos was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

His surviving family members include his loving wife, Chrisoula (Tolios) Meltsakos of Bradford; two sons, Paul Meltsakos and his wife Kathleen (Dole) Meltsakos of Groveland and Dr. George Meltsakos and his wife Ritsa (Bakelas) Meltsakos of Andover; four grandchildren, Christopher, Selena, Panagiotis and Evangelos Meltsakos; sister, Evmorfia (Meltsakos) Gavrielides and her husband Nicholas Gavrielides of Haverhill; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held Monday morning, July 23, beginning in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street at 11:30 AM. Funeral Service in the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154-156 Winter Street, Haverhill at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Mill Street, Haverhill. Calling hours will be Sunday in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, (Rte. 125), Bradford from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Meltsakos's memory to Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154-156 Winter Street, Haverhill, MA 01830.
