HAVERHILL - Noreen Emmett, 56, of Haverhill, passed away on peacefully on Friday, June 7, with her children by her side after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born and raised in Danvers, daughter of Robert J. and Joanne T. (Nolet) Emmett and graduate of Danvers High School in 1980 and spent many years working in taxes and bookkeeping. She later enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother for her two loving children and working part-time to do taxes and bookkeeping for family members, friends, and local businesses.

During times of good health, Noreen enjoyed going on camping trips in New Hampshire and Maine, going to the beach, gardening, and cooking. An avid Red Sox fan, Noreen enjoyed attending games at Fenway Park as well as watching at home with friends and loved ones. A longtime member of the Elks, Noreen loved spending time with her friends down at the Haverhill Elks lodge, where she could always be found playing Keno with a glass of pinot grigio. Most of all, Noreen enjoyed spending time with her two children whom were her pride and joy as well as her other friends and loved ones. Noreen will be remembered as a lively, fun-loving, and often daredevil-ish soul who had a vibrant personality and love for life and her children.

Noreen is survived by her two children, Rachael A. Carter of New York, NY and Timothy J. Carter of Haverhill. She leaves behind brother Brian Emmett and his wife Kelli of Freedom, NH, brother Kevin Emmett and his wife Stacy of North Andover, father Robert J. Emmett of Danvers, and several nieces, nephews and a grand-niece. Noreen is predeceased by her mother, Joanne T. Emmett of Danvers and her longtime partner, Keith J. Regan of Haverhill.

Her family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the Sutton Hill Center in North Andover for their efforts and their care they have given Noreen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Noreen's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org
