ATKINSON, NH - Nello Marceddu, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 17, 2020 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.

Born on September 22, 1930 in Sardinia, Italy. Nello was a lifelong learner who was fond of fishing, gardening, cooking and beating his grandchildren in scrabble and enjoying the arts, ballet and opera. He was proud employee of Polaroid until retirement and spent the rest of his years in his garden and with family. In his younger years, Nello was a member of the Alpini, the Alpine special mountain warfare infantry in the Alpine mountain range in Italy.

Nello is predeceased by his parents Giacomo and Antonia Marceddu and his wife Lidia Marceddu. He is survived by his two children Nella Haginicolas and Amy Schena; son in-laws George Haginicolas and Paul Schena; and three grandchildren Ashley Schena, Ben Schena and Liah Haginicolas.

Services were private. Contributions may be made in Nello's memory to the MSPCA at Nevin's Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
