HAVERHILL - Mildred E. (Millie) Hart, 91, formerly of Reading, passed away on February 1, 2012 at the Stevens-Bennett Home in Haverhill.
Millie was born in Somerville, on December 12, 1920, daughter of the late Emil H. and Helen M. (Russell) Hart. Millie moved to Reading in the 1950's. She worked for over 25 years fulfilling catalog orders for Sears Roebuck in their warehouse in Boston. After retiring, Millie enjoyed travelling with her sister, Helen and aunt, Phyllis. She also enjoyed crochet, puzzles, visiting family, and her cat. Millie especially loved small children and they loved her. She was happiest when choosing and giving gifts to others.
Millie is survived by her niece, Carolyn E. Hart and her husband, Mike Johnson, of Haverhill, her nephew Russell A. Hart and his wife Danielle of Winchendon, her sister-in-law, Isabel A. Hart of Woburn, and many cousins; including Florence Hammer of Stoneham, Leonard Massiglia of Natick, and Paul Massiglia and his wife Judy of Colorado Springs, CO. She also leaves her grandnephews Nathan Hart Johnson, Alec Hart, and Ian Hart and a grandniece, Camille Hart. Millie was predeceased by her sister Helen M. Hart and her brother Stanley E. Hart. Millie was blessed to spend the last 3 years of her life living at the Stevens-Bennett Home in Haverhill where she had many friends among the residents and staff.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her memorial service will be held at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Haverhill, 16 Ashland Street, Haverhill, on Sunday, February 26 at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Stevens-Bennett Home, 337 Main Street, Haverhill, MA 01830. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Bradford.
