HAVERHILL: Mildred B. (Emery) Woodworth, 91, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2020 at Penacook Place. She was the wife of the late Bernard L. Woodworth to whom she was married for 64 years.
Born in Haverhill on September 22, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Eben and Eva J. (Demeritt) Emery.
Milly was educated in West Newbury. Following her marriage, she remained home in Haverhill to raise her family. She was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church for 61 years, and enjoyed serving with the Mary-Martha group. Milly enjoyed working around her home where she gardened and canned various fruits and vegetables. She was fond of knitting and made hats for infants at the former Hale Hospital.
Milly is survived by her children: Charlene Marshall and husband Alfred of Rocky Mount, NC, Gary L. Woodworth and wife Mary Ann of Salisbury, MA, Alana Lambert and husband James of Haverhill.
She is also survived by six grandchildren: Eric Jesionowski and wife Julie of FL, Philip Jesionowski of Haverhill, Daniel B. Woodworth and wife Amy of So. Berwick, ME, Stephen L. Woodworth and wife Carrie of Toccoa Falls, GA, Erik Lambert of Warwick, RI, Jason Lambert of Springhill, FL, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mildred is also survived by siblings; Gilbert Emery of Amesbury, Priscilla Lewis and husband Ted of Newburyport, and Marjorie Carrico and husband Richard of SC.
In deference to the current health concerns arrangements at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill will be private. A private graveside service will be celebrated at a later date at Union Cemetery in East Kingston, NH.
