MERRIMAC, MA: Michael W. Smith, 44, died suddenly at his home on October 26th.

Born in Haverhill on November 25, 1963 Michael was the son of Paul L. Smith of Pelham, NH and the late Catherine J. Clarke.

He attended Haverhill High School and had been a member of the chorus.

Michael had worked as a member of the wait staff at restaurants in California and in Haverhill at Roma Restaurant and the former Christopher's. His many interests included cooking and he expressed his artistic talents in his gardening.

Besides his father Michael is survived by his brother Richard Smith and his wife Lisa of North Carolina, his longtime companion Wayne Marshall of Merrimac, and many relatives and friends.

Interment at Linwood Cemetery will be private and at the family's convenience. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
