Obituary

HAVERHILL – Michael J. Pike, 72, husband of Norma (Paré) Pike, passed away December 19, 2023, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Patricia (O'Neil) Pike of Haverhill and the late William Pike. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1971.  Micheal worked at Foss Manufacturing for 35 years before his retirement. He grew up in the Walnut Square area of Haverhill with many other large families. He enjoyed playing the drums, being a member of the Gladiators band and winning the Haverhill High School battle of the bands in 1967. He also played the best version of Wipe Out at his wedding. Michael was a star athlete for many years at the Greater Haverhill Boys and Girls Club.  He played on the last Saint James Basketball and Baseball teams in 1969.  He also played for the Haverhill High School Baseball Team in 1970. He was a member of the Elks and oftentimes could be found enjoying Keno and Lottery tickets with his wife at the Amvets or the American Legion. He enjoyed many summers at Salisbury Beach listening to the Red Sox with a cocktail in hand.

In addition to his loving wife Norma and his mother Patricia, he is survived by brothers William Pike and his wife Suzanne of Middleboro;  Jeffrey Pike and his wife Phyllis of NH; sisters Lisa Shanahan and her husband Peter of Haverhill; Sandra Faraci and her husband William of Salisbury; Sister in Law Christine (Hanley) Pike; Brothers in Law; John Paré and his wife Laurie of NH; Denis Paré; David Paré and his wife Deborah of Salisbury; Scott Paré and his wife Meaghan of Haverhill; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Kathleen and Stephen Jaggers, and brother Robert A. Pike.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 27, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
