Michael N.
Morrison
September 16, 1957 – December 7, 2019
MERRIMAC - Michael Nils Morrison, 62, of Merrimac MA, passed away in the company of his family on December 7, 2019 following a courageous battle with brain cancer (GBM). He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Tina (Celata) Morrison; their two children, Matthew (Tori) Morrison of Newton, NH, and Justine (Brandon) Cornelison of York, PA and brothers Bruce (Gwen) Morrison of Arlington, MA and Kerry (Tammy) Morrison of St. Petersburg, FL, as well as his loving father-in-law, John Celata of Sandown, NH; brother and sister in-laws, Pam and Greg Kaminstein, Phillip and Erin Celata, Tony and Sheila Celata, as well as nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene (Backe) Morrison, his sister, Betsy Morrison and his brother Jeffrey Morrison, as well as his mother-in-law, Frances Celata.
Michael grew up in Melrose, MA where he played baseball and football. After high school, Michael joined the New England Carpenters Apprenticeship Program. He was a talented carpenter whose diligent efforts enabled him to eventually establish his own consulting and project management company. The companies he previously worked for included All Interiors, Inc, Shawmut Design and Construction, A/E/C Solutions, Ashling, Inc. Most recently employed by Cushman & Wakefield, Inc, he served as a Senior Project Manager on their Verizon Account.
In his free time, Michael enjoyed an unparalleled enthusiasm for music, golf, cars and woodworking. He especially enjoyed playing and collecting guitars, music trivia and spending time on the golf course with his friends, brothers, father-in-law, coworkers and anyone seeking a companion on the green.
The world has lost a hard-working man who lived with integrity, a sense of humor, a love for his family and the willingness to help others. He was truly his children's biggest fan, always supporting their goals and providing loving guidance along the way. He was well liked and respected by all who met him. He never met a stranger and could always find something in common with anyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
