Obituary

HAVERHILL - Michael Hackett Sr., 72, a longtime resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at home after losing his battle to cancer on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Michael managed his illness with strength, courage and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his loving wife and children, who he adored more than anything else in the world.

Michael served his country in Vietnam in 1969 and shortly after returning he met and married the love of his life of over 50 years, Linda (Duggan) Hackett. Mike and Linda were blessed to have 4 children; son Michael Hackett Jr and his wife Samantha Hackett, son Jason Hackett and his wife Jennie Hackett, son Adam Hackett and his wife Aimee Hackett, and his daughter Nicole Panneton and her husband PJ Panneton.

One of Michael's biggest accomplishments was his family. He had always dreamed of a big family with lots of grandchildren and considered himself lucky enough to have 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His grandchildren, Tori (28), Samantha (26), Julia (25), Michael III (24), Lily (14), Isabel (14), Emme (14), Kayla (12), Rory (12), Brayden (9) and one great grandchild Elli (9) called their Papa the center of their world. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.

Michael created a very successful career in the Coffee business for over 40 years and his customers considered him a dear friend. He loved traveling with his wife to California, Ireland and their favorite place the Divi in Aruba. He spent a lot of his time with his kids and grandkids in the famous "Hackett Barn" playing pool, a game of ping pong or just spending quality time together creating memories his family will cherish forever.

Michael also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends who he loved as well.
