HAMPSTEAD, NH: Mavis C. (Sherbut) Belanger, 96, passed away on March 23, 2016 ay Salem Haven Rehabilitation in Salem, NH. Mrs. Belanger was the wife of Gerard O. Belanger.

Born in Manchester, VT on August 28, 1919, Mrs. Belanger was the daughter of the late Ralph S. and Annie E. (Sawyer) Sherbut.

Mrs. Belanger was educated in Sandown, NH and continued her education at McIntosh Business School. She worked as secretary for twenty years at the Hills Insurance Agency in Plaistow before retiring in 1981. Mrs. Belanger attended St. Anne's Church in Hampstead. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and especially enjoyed dancing. For many years she, and her family, vacationed at their camp on Merrymeeting Lake.

Beside her husband of thirty-nine years, she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kennedy and her husband Brian of New Durham, NH; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Beryl Millard of Elberton, GA, Jeanne LaBranche and husband Norman of York, ME, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Belanger was the mother of the late Ralph E. Collins, and sister of the late Arlene Clark, Shirley Clark, Janice Wentworth and Raeburn Sherbut.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, March 28, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment, at a later date, at Holy Angels Cemetery.
