GROVELAND: Matthew W. Poth, a longtime resident of Groveland, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2014 at Beth Israel Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Anna (Narkun) Poth.

Matthew was educated in the Haverhill School System, held a BS from Merrimack College, and an MBA from Suffolk University. He served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Matthew worked as an industrial engineer at Raytheon Corp. for over 40 years. He was an adjunct faculty member for over 25 years in the evening division at Northern Essex Community College. He loved sports and was an avid golfer. Matthew was an active member of the Haverhill Lithuanian Club, and was a Past President.

He leaves his beloved wife, Jean Poth; son, Clifford Poth and his wife Mary of Florida; sister, Barbara Reagan of Salem, NH; brother-in-law, Victor Somma, Jr. and his wife Carolyn; niece, Jennifer Greene and nephew, James Reagan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 10:00 am at Sacred Hearts Church. Interment at the Lithuanian Cemetery will be private.
