HAVERHILL - Matthew Ryan Benard, 33, of Haverhill, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 10, 2021.

He was born to the late Michelle Benard-Ackerman on May 19, 1987. Matthew was born and raised in Haverhill, Massachusetts and attended Haverhill Public Schools. He was a free spirt, he expressed himself mostly through music. He taught himself how to play the guitar as a teenager and formed a band with his close childhood friends. He dreamed of becoming famous and often talked about all the good he would do in the world if he did. Matthew's philosophy was to just be happy regardless of his circumstances and he always had a smile on his face. Matthew is surviving family members include his grandmother Mary Jane Pike; grandfather David Pike; siblings Jennifer Benard and Zachary Ackerman; stepfather Richard Ackerman; aunts Lisa and Laura Pike; uncles Christopher and Bryan Pike; and many cousins and close friends.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, April 17, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Services with Remembrance and Celebration of Life will follow beggining at 4:00 PM. Note to wear face coverings and social distancing measures will be in place.
