HAVERHILL - Mary F. Meehan, 84, lifelong Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 11, 2016 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

Mary was born in Haverhill on August 21, 1931, one of nine children of Stephen and Mary Meehan. Educated in Haverhill schools and graduate of St. James High School.

She worked for many years in the offices of Villa Distributors, Haverhill as well as Nefor Engineering until her retirement in 2007.

Mary spent her life as a caregiver for her family. Although she had no children, she cared greatly for all of her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews as they did for her.

Her interests included gardening, and her beloved dogs.

Mary's surviving family members include her loving siblings, Kathleen Camic of Manchester, NH and George Richard Meehan and wife Pauline of Newton, NH; several cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; sister of the late Lillian Manghis, Stephen Meehan, James Meehan, Lawrence Meehan, Patricia Tashjian and Thomas Meehan.

Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 15 in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary's memory to Elder Services of Merrimack Valley, 360 Merrimack St. Bldg. 5, Lawrence, MA 01843.
