Obituary

HAVERHILL: Mary A. (Parks) McIntyre, 84, passed away on March 21, 2022 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Gloucester, MA on November 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edward Sumner Parks, 1 and Florence (Evans) Parks.

Mary attended Gloucester High School and graduated at age 16, and continued her education graduating from MacIntosh Business School. She worked as office manager for Gloucester News before becoming a homemaker upon the birth of her children. Later, Mary spent two decades working as a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was a lifelong supporter of St. John's Episcopal Church in Gloucester.

Mary was a devoted wife and proud mother who delighter in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many winters in Palm Springs, California, and summers at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester. Her happiest times were her many vacations with family and friends. She was a generous soul who touched the hearts of many.

Mary was married to Edward G. McIntyre for 54 years, and was predeceased by him in 2019. Mary is survived by her daughter, Malia A. McIntyre and her wife Theresia, of East Wakefield, NH; her sons, Michael E. McIntyre and his wife LeeAnn of Methuen, MA, and Merit McIntyre and his wife Jennifer, of Haverhill, MA. She is also survived by her brother, Edward S. Parks, ll and his wife Thelma of Gloucester, MA; six grandchildren: Katelyn Pekarski, Stephanie McDowell, Crystal McIntyre, Kayleigh McIntyre, Henry McIntyre and Grace McIntyre; four great-grandchildren, Isla, Deaken, Liam and Rosalie; sisters-in-law, Lottie Seavey and Virginia Morin; dear friends, Beverly Movalli, Pauline Erwin, Ricky and Debbie Huberdeau.
