Mary (Doherty) MacDougall, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026. She was born on January 21, 1937, in Chelsea, and was a longtime resident of Groveland.
She lived a life marked by love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Duncan MacDougall, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Together they built a loving home and raised a devoted family.
Mary will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of her church and a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, where she found fellowship, purpose, and opportunities to serve others. She touched many lives through her compassion, wisdom, and steadfast love for the people she cherished.
Her family was her greatest pride, and she poured her heart into being a devoted mother and loyal friend. Mary’s love, care, and guidance created lasting memories and a legacy that will continue through the generations she helped shape.
She is survived by her loving children Mary Dean and husband Jeff, of Londonderry, NH, Joseph MacDougall and wife Lisa, of Concord, NH, Bonnie Murray of Groveland, widow of the late Dexter Murray Jr., James MacDougall and wife Lisa, of Haverhill and Michael Cedric MacDougall of South Burlington, VT.
Mary was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Mary is also survived by her brother Joseph Doherty of New Orleans, LA and preceded in death by her siblings Michael Doherty, John Doherty, Margaret Martell and Kathleen Gaudet.
She leaves behind a family who will deeply miss her and forever treasure the memories they shared with her. Her legacy of love, faith, and resilience will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, in St. Patrick Church, 114 Center Street, Groveland from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to the Alzheimer's Association . Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill.
