HAVERHILL- Mary A. (Rogers) Blair, 82, lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
Mrs. Blair was born in Haverhill on March 27, 1930. Daughter of the late James W. and Beatrice F. (Chapman) Rogers. She attended St. Joseph School and graduated St. James High School, class of 1948.
She began her working career at the L.H. Hamel Leather Co., Haverhill and worked for many years at Western Electric Co., No. Andover until her retirement in the late 1980's.
Beloved wife of the late Ernest P. Blair who passed on July 14, 2008.
Her interests included shopping, crafts, knitting and crocheting, traveling, gardening, most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Blair was a devote Catholic, having her sacraments being received from the former St. Rita Church, Haverhill and more recently a communicant of St. James Church, Haverhill.
Her surviving family members include her loving siblings, Joseph H. Rogers, Sr. and his wife Joann M. of Haverhill, John R. Rogers and his wife the late Carlene L. of Haverhill and Charlotte A. Ennis and her husband Larry J. of Haverhill; several nieces and nephews and their children; sister of the late James W. Rogers and his late wife, Helen.
Visiting hours will be held Friday morning, May 4, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, (Rte. 125), Bradford from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, No. Broadway, Haverhill. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Contributions in Mrs. Blair's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
